"The TOP 10 Signs" came to life from the joint efforts of JL Kings' On the Down Low book and Senwot Nella Production's The CLOSET, a dvd-Drama Series. Both projects specially inform women of the hidden sexual lives of men who sleep with other men (i.e. on the Down Low). This particular project is a passion for King (left in photo) and Senwot Nella's owners, Maurice Townes & Kevin F. Allen (center and right in photo). With the alarming rate of HIV/AIDS among African-American women, which is drastically increasing quarterly, this trio has made it their quest to assist with educating women. "For years women have been asking me to inform them of down low signs...", states King who continues, "and I've always refused to expose that type of behavior .. my prayer has been that men would follow my example without me exposing them, but they are not... so after discussions with Kevin and Maurice and realizing our goals are exactly the same, to lower the HIV/AIDS rate among women... we formed an alliance." Townes, who's never lived a down low life, is the Director of the project states, "Women need to be informed of this behavior! Homosexual men are not the limp wrist, flamboyant males that Hollywood has displayed in movies and TV shows. Yes, women would know those men are gay, even Stevie Wonder can see that... It's time American understand that most homosexual men are as masculine as heterosexual men and if society, especially the black church, accepts individuals for who they are and NOT for who they love our country will be a better place and men would not have to hide their true feelings of love. "
